Overview
We are seeking a proactive and personable Sales Assistant to join our retail team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service, promoting products, and supporting sales targets. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in merchandising, communication, and organisational management within a dynamic retail environment. Fluent English is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide assistance to enhance their shopping experience
- Promote and upsell products effectively to maximise sales opportunities
- Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure attractive product displays
- Handle customer enquiries via phone and in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems
- Organise stock levels and assist with inventory management
- Responsible for receiving, unloading, and organizing incoming deliveries, including items that may be heavy and physically demanding to handle
- Support the team during busy periods by managing multiple tasks efficiently
- Provide product information and recommendations tailored to customer needs
- Assist in organising promotional events or special offers within the store
Requirements
- Fluency in English
- Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette
- Organised with good time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock counts
- Proven organisational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and stock management
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not essential
- A positive attitude, friendly demeanour, and willingness to learn new skills
Pay: £12.71 per hour
