Job Summary
We are seeking responsible, flexible and reliable SEN College Minibus Drivers to safely transport students to and from college premises. The ideal candidates will possess strong driving skills, good communication abilities, and a solid understanding of vehicle maintenance. Applicants will be subject to a DBS check. Looking for flexible and reliable drivers to join our friendly team. Ideal candidate must be smart, professional and have excellent communication skills.
This role offers an opportunity to contribute positively to students’ educational experience while ensuring their safety and comfort during transit. Candidates must hold appropriate driving licences and have relevant experience in commercial driving or delivery services.
Responsibilities
- Providing safe transportation of college students from designated pick up points to one of our 6 sites in Ashford & Swale
- Being responsible for keeping the vehicle in clean condition and refuelled at all times
- Successfully completing daily safety checks of the vehicle
- Complying with all relevant road traffic acts and regulations
- Complying with all health and safety requirements including use of PPE at all times
- Safely operate the college minibus, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure the minibus is in optimal condition
- Communicate effectively with students, college staff, and colleagues regarding schedules or any issues during transit
- Maintain accurate records of journeys, mileage, and vehicle condition
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate department
- Assist with loading and unloading students when necessary, ensuring their safety at all times
Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence suitable for passenger vehicles (minimum of 16 driver qualification)
- Proven experience as a commercial driver or delivery driver, preferably with passenger transport experience
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to interact professionally with students and staff
- Strong organisational skills and reliability in adhering to schedules
- Knowledge of vehicle safety standards and traffic regulations
- Prior experience working with young people or in an educational environment is desirable but not essential
This role requires a dedicated individual committed to safety, punctuality, and providing excellent service to students.
Pay: £12.85-£15.00 per hour
