Hours: up to 40 per week including every other weekend on a rota basis.
The Hotel Folk are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our award-winning hotel The Swan at Lavenham Hotel and Spa.
You will have at least 3 years' previous experience in a similar role at a hotel with a spa, and ideally at least 1 year in a similar environment with 4 red-star accreditation. You will have all round maintenance experience including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, flooring and general repairs as well as a valid Pool Plant Operations Qualification or equivalent experience and willingness to undertake the qualification .
The role is responsible for maintaining all buildings and facilities at the hotel and spa and managing the day to day workload of the maintenance team to ensure tasks are completed to the highest standard by the required deadline. The successful candidate must be dedicated to the details in order to provide a safe, comfortable, and functional environment to enhance the customer experience.
Main duties
Communicate daily with management to discuss work schedules and prioritize.
Ensure that management are aware of any outstanding maintenance work and ‘ make it happen
Identify any work that needs to be undertaken and recommend how it could becompleted, been ‘dedicated to the details’ on the finishing product.
Carry out weekly fire safety and emergency lighting checks if situated in the hotels.
Record and sign off all tests and checks neatly and accurately
Always work safely in accordance with the health and safety policy and procedures.
Always work so that there is a minimum amount of disruption to guests and other staff.
Know when to call upon expert/professional service providers, in agreement with your line manager.
Read and record monthly meter readings if situated in the hotels.
Work along like-minded colleagues to give ‘extraordinary service’ around the hotel.
Carry out repair and replacement work that does not need to be completed by a qualified person.

Replacing taps and valves
Connecting plugs
Hanging pictures, minor repairs to fixtures and fittings
Unblocking sinks and drains
Hanging and repairing signage
Repairing garden fixtures and furniture, general gardening duties
Basic Carpentry skills
