D&S Healthcare Limited is a CQC-registered care provider operating residential services across Colchester. The Role
We are recruiting two Registered Managers — one for Hazel Villa (near Mile End) and one for Mickleboro Lodge (near Greenstead), our two 8-bed residential care homes in Colchester. Each home supports adults with mental health needs and behaviours that may challenge.
Whilst you will be recruited to manage one specific service, there is an expectation that, if needed, the successful candidate will oversee and manage both services — up to 16 beds across the two homes — working closely alongside your fellow Registered Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the home, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care
- Lead, supervise and develop a team of Team Leaders and Support Workers
- Ensure compliance with CQC standards, regulations and the home's Statement of Purpose
- Manage staff recruitment, induction, supervision and appraisals
- Oversee budgets, rotas and operational performance
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of the people you support
- Work collaboratively with the Operational Director and Quality Assurance Team
- Be available to support the sister service where needed, ensuring continuity of care across both homes
What We're Looking For
- Experience managing a residential care service, ideally supporting mental health and/or behaviours that challenge
- A relevant management qualification (e.g. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care) or willingness to work towards one
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- A genuine commitment to person-centred, compassionate care
- CQC Registered Manager experience is desirable but not essential
What We Offer
- Salary of £40,000 – £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, plus an on-call rota with additional recompense
