The Cornwall Hotel is a well-established, guest-focused hotel offering a high standard of service in a relaxed setting. We are seeking a dependable and proactive Night Porter to provide flexible overnight cover as required.
The Role
This position is primarily to cover night shifts on a zero-hour basis, ideal for someone who is flexible and able to step in at short notice. As the Night Porter, you will be responsible for the safety, security, and smooth operation of the hotel during overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the main point of contact for guests overnight
- Managing late check-ins and early departures
- Conducting regular security patrols and ensuring guest safety
- Setting up public areas or function rooms for the following day
- Supporting reception duties, including basic admin tasks
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of public areas
- Handling guest queries or issues calmly and efficiently
- Responding appropriately to emergencies or incidents
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable and flexible, with availability for ad hoc night shifts
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain alert and proactive during quiet periods
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
Pay: From £14.00 per hour
