Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Pot Washer to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in delivering high-quality service. Duties
- Responsible for washing pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team
- Support the organisation of dishware and kitchen supplies for smooth operation during service
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including floors, surfaces, and storage spaces
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed at all times to uphold a safe working environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key
- Basic understanding of food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations preferred
- Knowledge of hygiene standards within a professional kitchen environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
