About the role Lawton Landscapes is looking for an experienced Landscaper Team Lead to join our growing team. We specialise in high-quality domestic landscaping projects, including patios, paving, fencing, garden renovations, driveways, drainage and complete garden transformations.
We are looking for someone who is confident taking responsibility for a small team and running a landscaping project from start to finish.
You will be working closely with the business owner, with the opportunity to take a lead role on increasingly larger projects as the business grows.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work, can organise a team effectively and is capable of working without constant supervision.
Key responsibilities -
Lead and supervise a small landscaping team on site
- Organise daily tasks and ensure projects stay on schedule
- Read and work from drawings, specifications and project plans
- Carry out high-quality hard landscaping, including patios, paving, fencing, brickwork and garden structures
- Set out projects accurately and maintain good attention to detail
- Operate and safely use landscaping tools, machinery and equipment
- Coordinate with other trades and subcontractors when required
- Ensure materials are used efficiently and the site is kept organised and tidy
- Carry out quality checks throughout the project
- Communicate with the business owner regarding progress, materials and any issues on site
- Liaise professionally with customers when required
- Ensure health and safety standards are followed
- Help develop and mentor less experienced team members What we're looking for.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Several years' experience in landscaping or a related construction trade
- Previous experience leading a small team - Strong hard landscaping skills
- Experience with patios, paving, fencing and general garden construction
- Good knowledge of levels, falls, drainage and setting out
- Ability to read drawings and follow project specifications
- Experience using power tools and landscaping machinery
- A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Good communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and take responsibility for a project
- A professional attitude towards customers and colleagues
- A full UK driving licence
