The Role
We’re looking for a Brewing & Syrup Operator who’s excited to bring their skills and ideas to the table. In this role, you’ll ensure the efficient and accurate execution of all processes from raw material intake through to bright beer and syrup production, supporting the department in delivering the brewery’s production plan safely, consistently, and to the required quality standards. .
What You’ll Be Doing
General
- Manage stock control and storage of materials and ingredients, ensuring accurate usage and traceability.
- Maintain precise and compliant record keeping to support operational, quality, and audit requirements.
- Follow all food safety, HACCP, and GMP procedures during brewing and packaging activities, ensuring equipment, work areas, and handling practices meet required hygiene and quality standards.
- Monitor designated Critical Control Points (CCPs), accurately record results, and immediately report any deviations to maintain product safety and process integrity.
- Operate site automation systems (SCADA) for monitoring, control, and process adjustments.
- Use the site Quality Control system (LIMS) for sample logging, test results, and process verification.
Brewhouse
- Manage malt handling and milling operations safely and efficiently.
- Operate and monitor the dual‑stream brewhouse, ensuring batch accuracy and process control.
- Weigh hops and brewing additions precisely according to recipe specifications.
- Transfer wort from coppers to fermentation vessels following standard procedures.
- Monitor fermentation progress, document key parameters, and escalate abnormalities.
- Handle yeast safely, including pitching, cropping, and storage activities.
- Perform green beer centrifugation and related beer transfers to maintain product quality.
- Conduct CIP of all brewhouse equipment, ensuring cleaning cycles meet hygiene standards.
Filtration and Tanker Bay
- Operate powder filters and associated filtration equipment safely and according to procedures.
- Complete the safe unloading and loading of road tankers, ensuring correct product handling and documentation.
- Transfer bright beer to the packaging lines while maintaining quality and line readiness.
- Perform CIP of filters, product mains, and bright beer tanks to maintain hygiene and quality standards.
Syrup area
- Maintain accurate stock control and records for all syrup ingredients.
- Measure syrup ingredients precisely to meet recipe and product specifications.
- Produce syrups and ensure consistent supply to the canning line.
- Complete CIP of syrup systems and can filler equipment to maintain product safety and hygiene.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- Previous experience in food production or manufacturing is preferable
- Forklift licence desirable; training can be provided on site.
- Comfortable using basic computer systems and able to learn site‑specific software (e.g., SCADA, LIMS).

Extra's:
- Salary: £38,084.39
- Hours: 39 hours per week across 3 shifts (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am)
