Auden House is a friendly, 24-bedroom care home providing residential and dementia care.
We are looking for an organised, reliable and committed individual with a professional approach to join our small team as a Domestic Cleaner.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection prevention throughout the home. Your work will help ensure that our residents enjoy a safe, comfortable and well-maintained living environment.
Main Duties
- Promote the Company’s Mission Statement and values at all times.
- Empty waste bins and regularly clean wastepaper bins.
- Vacuum throughout the care home and spot-clean flooring as required.
- Clean residents’ bedrooms, dining rooms, lounges, communal areas and toilets.
- Clean taps, sinks, soap dispenser outlets, mirrors and other bathroom fittings.
- Wash bathroom, toilet and en-suite floors, and clean toothbrush holders and visible pipework.
- Dust and polish furniture, windowsills, handrails, pictures, fittings and other surfaces.
- Shake out cushions and move mobile furniture to clean underneath and behind it.
- Wash vinyl and lino floors and spot-shampoo carpets when required.
- Dust light fittings, light bulbs and curtains, where safe and appropriate.
- Restock toiletries, soap, toilet rolls, paper towels and other supplies as needed.
- Follow the care home’s infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
- Use cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly.
- Complete all required cleaning schedules, checks and other relevant paperwork.
- Report any damage, hazards, maintenance concerns or low stock levels promptly.
- Carry out other reasonable cleaning duties as required.

Experience
Previous cleaning experience, particularly within a care environment, is preferable but not essential. Full training will be provided to the right candidate.
Requirements
Employment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and completion of all required employment checks.
