If so, this exciting role could be for you! Our client is currently looking for a senior quality engineer (SQE). The primary responsibilities of the role is to support the business in Quality Assurance activities to ensure compliance with AS9100 and Customer Quality Requirements. The SQE will support the Group Quality Management Systems Manager who has overall responsibility for the Quality Management System, customer and external audit bodies. The SQE will manage the Quality Team and all activity performed by the team specifically in the production of control plans, FAIRs and internal NC Process.
Role responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Lead an internal team of Quality Engineers
- Supporting NPI by developing and approving inspection plans, control plans, and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in line with AS9102
- Supporting APQP and PPAP activities where required
- Approve supplier PPAP submissions and monitor ongoing compliance
- Support Contract review process by reviewing engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturability and quality risks
- Lead root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone diagrams
- Drive corrective and preventive actions
- Manage supplier quality performance and conduct supplier audits
- Support supplier development and corrective actions
- Maintain quality documentation, procedures, and records
- Prepare reports for management review
- Ensure traceability and configuration control of aerospace components
- Monitor KPIs such as scrap, rework, and yield

Requirements
- Proven experience in aerospace manufacturing in a Quality Assurance role
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace quality standards
- Experience with inspection techniques and tools (CMM, gauges, etc.)
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings
- Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving
- Knowledge of NADCAP processes
- Experience with customer requirements from major aerospace OEMs
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Hours and Package
- £50,000 - £55,000
- 07:30 – 16:00 Mon to Thu and 07:30 – 12:30 Fri
