Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Advanced Manufacturing & Production Excellence Executive to lead continuous improvement initiatives within our manufacturing operations. Responsibilities
- Lead root cause analysis to identify underlying issues affecting production quality and efficiency, developing effective corrective actions.
- Utilise CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks to design, review, and modify manufacturing components and systems.
- Develop, interpret, and troubleshoot schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation for automation and machinery.
- Programme and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimise automation processes and improve operational reliability.
- Apply mechanical knowledge to improve existing equipment, oversee fabrication processes, and support tooling development.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies across manufacturing processes, including plastics injection moulding, assembly lines, welding operations, and tooling optimisation.
- Conduct GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) assessments to ensure precision in manufacturing components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project planning involving CAD design, fabrication, assembly, and process optimisation.
- Support the development of schematics for new equipment or modifications to existing systems ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Drive innovation in plastics injection moulding techniques and other advanced manufacturing methods to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
Requirements
- Proven experience in root cause analysis within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks for design purposes.
- Strong understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) programming and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of schematics interpretation, electrical wiring diagrams, and control systems design.
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in fabrication, assembly, welding, tooling development, and plastics injection moulding processes.
- Familiarity with GD&T standards for precision measurement and quality assurance.
- Experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to implement innovative solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency optimisation and process enhancement.
- Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Technology are preferred but not essential; practical experience is highly valued.
