Role Overview
We are seeking a commercially minded Estimator / Sales Person / Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
This is a varied role within an established specialist subcontractor, covering the full commercial cycle from opportunity identification through to estimating, tendering, negotiation, contract award and handover.
The role combines estimating, commercial awareness and sales activity, with regular direct contact with main contractors, QSs, buyers and project teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesEstimating & Tendering
· Review enquiries, drawings and tender documents.
· Prepare accurate, competitive estimates and cost build-ups.
· Carry out take-offs and obtain supplier/subcontractor quotes.
· Submit quotations and tender returns.
· Maintain estimating records and follow up enquiries.
· Support construction methodology and programme input.
Sales & Business Development
· Identify and pursue new project opportunities.
· Develop and maintain client relationships.
· Proactively follow up quotations and tenders.
· Promote company services to new and existing clients.
· Track opportunities from enquiry to award/loss.
· Support ongoing business development activity.
Commercial / Quantity Surveying
· Support pre-contract commercial reviews.
· Assist with negotiation of price, scope and terms.
· Prepare commercial handover to operations.
· Support valuations, variations and final accounts.
· Ensure changes are identified, priced and recorded.
· Monitor project performance against tender allowances.
· Maintain accurate commercial records and correspondence.
· Assist in resolving commercial issues professionally.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have experience in construction or specialist subcontracting, with a blend of estimating and commercial capability.
Experience
Preferred:
· Background in subcontracting or specialist contracting.
· Experience pricing labour, plant and materials.
· Understanding of subcontract terms and commercial processes.
· Relevant construction/QS qualification beneficial but not essential.

A commercially driven individual who can take ownership of opportunities from enquiry through to order.
The role requires flexibility between estimating, client communication, negotiation and supporting project delivery.
Salary dependant upon experience.
Pay: £30,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
