We are seeking a dedicated and personable Restaurant Assistant (FOH) to join our vibrant team. Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and ensure they feel welcomed throughout their visit
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing menu recommendations when appropriate
- Serve food and beverages in a professional and timely manner, maintaining high standards of presentation
- Assist with setting up tables, clearing dishes, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times, including proper handling and storage of food and beverages
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate service flow and address any guest needs promptly
- Handle guest enquiries courteously and resolve any issues or complaints effectively
- Support the team during busy periods by assisting with additional tasks as required
Skills
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are key
- Strong guest service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
- Basic food preparation skills are advantageous, including understanding of hygiene standards
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently during busy service periods
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing and transaction purposes
- Experience in serving or culinary roles will be beneficial in understanding restaurant operations
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
- Upselling skills to promote menu items confidently while enhancing guest satisfaction
