About the Role
We are a growing signage company based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, looking for a large format printer/finisher/sign maker to work within our production department. It is an exciting time to join us as we expand into brand new premises and install brand new print equipment.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident running large format print and finishing equipment, and maintaining high standards of quality and organisation. You will play a key role within the production team, assisting in printed and fabricated signage making sure it is produced efficiently, on time, and to the correct standard. You will be working within a small team and report to the Production manager day to day, however the ability to self manage your workload is a must.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate large format production equipment, including:
- 2x Epson S8060 large format printers
- 2 x Vivid Laminators
- 2 x Summa plotters
- Epson Flatbed printer
- Veloblade Flatbed cutter & cnc
- Carry out finishing work including laminating, trimming, weeding, mounting, and preparation for installation
- Prepare fleet vehicle livery and wrap kits, including Chapter 8 kits
- Apply vinyl to a variety of panel substrates
- Check, and process files using:
- Onyx RIP
- Adobe Illustrator
- Package completed jobs and book couriers for outbound deliveries
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organised production area
- Prioritise workload to ensure all items are delivered on time and to the required quality
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 years previous experience in the signage industry
- Confident running large format printers, laminators & plotters
- Good working knowledge of Onyx and Adobe Illustrator
- Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and pride in quality
Desirable Skills
- Experience producing Flat cut lettering, or ACM trays with a CNC router
- Any other industry experience would be highly regarded, such as if you have the ability to create artwork, or have experience installing vinyls/signage
