Join the team at Swindon Town FC Community Foundation as a Education Development Officer, supporting the delivery and development of our education and community programmes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education, coaching, mentoring and using sport to create positive opportunities for young people and our wider community.
As part of the role, you will:
- Support our university degree students as one of our University Degree Mentors, helping students navigate and progress through their blended learning degree programmes while supporting their academic, practical and personal development.
- Coach and develop our Post-16 education teams, supporting students to develop their individual football ability, while also leading teams on matchdays in the EFL Community Education Football League.
- Mentor our part-time, Post-16 and degree students through volunteering opportunities, supporting their personal and professional development, delivering coach education and helping them to develop the coaching skills and experience needed for future careers within sport and education.
- Deliver across our wider community programmes, working across our key pillars of Sports Participation, Health, Social Inclusion and Schools to create positive experiences and opportunities for people across our community.
Experience
- UEFA C Badge (Level 2) - essential
- UEFA B Badge Current Safeguarding Certificate - desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or experience of facilitating learners in undergraduate or post-16 settings
- Current First Aid Certificate University Degree Qualified
- Hold a valid full, clean UK driving licence.
- Experience engaging learners through varied delivery methods, adapting coaching and teaching styles to suit different learning needs and maintain high participation.
- Proven ability to deliver both informal and formal feedback that supports development and ensures learners are prepared for assessment deadlines.
- Experience supporting learners with a range of academic and footballing abilities, using effective differentiation in both classroom and practical settings.
- Practical experience working with 11-a-side teams, including session planning, training delivery, match preparation, and in-game management.
- Experience in sports development and/or education settings (e.g. schools, colleges, training providers), with an understanding of learner progression pathways.
- Good level of ICT literacy with knowledge of Microsoft packages e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to engage with people from all backgrounds and strong networking skills
- Flexibility to work outside of normal working hours e.g. evenings & weekends to meet the needs of the community.
- Ability to design and implement high-quality, varied and creative coaching sessions and educational activities that engage learners and support both academic achievement and football development.
- Ability to inspire, engage and educate people from all backgrounds and communities
- Experience of using data management systems such as, Salesforce, etc.
- The ability to work independently
- Ability to work safely, in accordance with the Swindon Town FC Community Foundation Safeguarding and Equality & Diversity Policy
