Empire Law is a dedicated criminal defence practice based In Leeds and is seeking a Criminal Solicitor to join their close-knit team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work on a varied caseload, representing clients at police stations, Magistrates’ Courts, and Crown Courts, from initial advice through to trial preparation. The firm is committed to high-quality client care and maintaining a strong reputation for advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising and representing clients at all stages of the criminal justice process.
- Managing a varied criminal defence caseload from start to finish.
- Preparing legal documents, drafting statements, and conducting legal research.
- Attending conferences with counsel and liaising with external agencies as required.
- Ensuring clients are fully informed and supported throughout their case.
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with criminal defence experience (1+ PQE preferred).
- Strong advocacy skills and comprehensive knowledge of criminal law and procedure.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload under pressure.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality client care and ensuring access to justice.
