We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant educational team. Duties
- Assist in planning and delivering tailored lessons that meet individual student needs, especially those with special educational requirements.
- Support classroom management by supervising students during activities, breaks, and transitions to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Provide targeted support to students with disabilities, including those with autism, to promote their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Tutor students who need extra help in specific subjects or skills, fostering confidence and independence.
- Mentor students by offering encouragement, guidance, and positive reinforcement to boost their motivation and self-esteem.
- Collaborate closely with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support for learners’ progress.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Must have HLTA Qualification
- Demonstrated knowledge of special education practices and strategies for supporting students with disabilities.
- Experience working specifically with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
- Background in tutoring or mentoring students to improve academic performance and social skills.
- Strong communication skills to clearly convey information and build trusting relationships with students and team members.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques tailored for children with diverse needs is a plus.
