Electrician – Social Housing
Quality Property & Electrical Services (QPES Ltd) is looking for an experienced Electrician to join our team, carrying out electrical installations as part of a long-term social housing kitchen refurbishment programme in Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas.
This is a 4-year fixed-term contract, providing long-term job security and consistent work, with a salary of £35,685 per annum (£18.30 per hour) based on a 37.5-hour working week.
A company van, fuel card and paid holiday entitlement are also provided.
We are looking for a reliable, qualified Electrician with experience working within domestic or social housing properties who can deliver high-quality electrical work while maintaining a professional approach when working in tenants' homes.
The Electrician Role
As an Electrician working on our social housing kitchen programme, you will carry out electrical works associated with planned kitchen refurbishments in occupied and unoccupied properties.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Electrical installations associated with kitchen refurbishments
- 1st and 2nd fix electrical work
- Installation and relocation of sockets and switches
- Installing fused spurs and connection points for kitchen appliances
- Cable runs and alterations to existing circuits
- Lighting installations and alterations
- Final connections and terminations
- Testing completed electrical works where required
- Identifying and reporting electrical defects
- Ensuring all electrical work complies with BS 7671 and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Working alongside kitchen fitters and other trades to keep properties on programme
- Completing work efficiently and within agreed timescales
- Working professionally and respectfully within occupied properties
- Maintaining QPES standards for quality, safety and customer service
Electrician Requirements
To be considered for this Electrician position, you should have:
- ECS Gold Card
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- NVQ Level 3 + AM2 or equivalent
- Previous domestic electrical installation experience
- Previous social housing experience is highly desirable
- Experience working on kitchen refurbishment programmes would be advantageous
- Good knowledge of 1st and 2nd fix electrical installations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider refurbishment team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- High standard of workmanship
- Reliable and professional approach
- Full UK driving licence
