Hours: 40 hours per week with overtime available (0700-1500)
Salary: £13.00-£15.00 per hour, depending on experience. Weekly paid.
Overtime required depending on production.
Job Purpose
The Yard Operative is responsible for supporting yard and logistics operations by loading and unloading lorries, organising materials, and picking work according to the production plan. The role ensures materials and finished products move efficiently between the yard, warehouse, and production areas.
Key Responsibilities: Yard & Logistics Operations
- Load and unload delivery lorries safely and efficiently.
- Move aluminium materials and finished products within the yard and production areas.
- Ensure goods are stored correctly and safely in designated locations.
Production Support
- Pick work and materials based on the daily production plan.
- Prepare materials for processing and manufacturing.
- Assist production teams by ensuring materials are delivered on time.
Equipment Operation
- Operate forklifts or lifting equipment where required (if licensed).
- Carry out basic equipment checks to ensure safe operation.
Health & Safety
- Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in the yard.
- Report hazards or damaged materials immediately.
Required Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Good organisational and teamwork skills.
- Physically capable of manual handling tasks.
- Basic understanding of warehouse or yard operations.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse, yard, or manufacturing environment.
- Forklift truck licence (counterbalance or similar).
- Experience handling metal or construction materials.
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
