Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

The Role:
As a Room Leader at our Skelmanthorpe nursery, you’ll take responsibility for leading and supporting a team of practitioners and apprentices, while ensuring your key children receive the highest standard of care, learning and development.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Lead and supervise a team of practitioners and apprentices within your room.
- Support your team to deliver outstanding play, activities and learning experiences.
- Identify knowledge and development gaps within your team and work with the Nursery Manager to provide appropriate training and support.
- Keep reporting, records and documentation accurate, up to date and appropriately filed.
- Participate in and lead staff training, meetings, workshops and open days.
- Create an enabling and stimulating environment where children can flourish.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Promote children’s wellbeing, development and individual needs.
- Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Report any safeguarding concerns or breaches immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced early years practitioner who is ready to take on greater responsibility and begin developing their leadership skills.

We’re looking for someone who brings confidence, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for supporting both children and colleagues.
Essential
- Level 3 Early Years qualification and QTS
- At least 1 year’s experience working in a day nursery with children aged 3-5.
- Experience supporting or leading other practitioners.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and high standards of care.
- Ability to create a positive, nurturing and stimulating environment for children.
- A proactive approach to supporting colleagues and identifying development opportunities.
