THE ROLE:
Job Type: Full-Time
Greenhalgh's Craft Bakery Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Van Driver to join our team. As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of our products to various locations across the UK, loading and unloading, interacting with customers and other employee's .
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collect bakery products from our depot at 3am and deliver to designated locations
- Ensure timely and accurate deliveries, adhering to scheduled routes and times
- Load and unload van with care, handling products safely to prevent damage
- Maintain a clean and organized van, reporting any issues or damage to management
- Provide excellent customer service, interacting with customers in a professional and friendly manner
- Complete daily vehicle checks, reporting any issues to management
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and feedback from customers
REQUIREMENTS
- 1 year of experience as a van driver, preferably in a similar industry
- Valid UK driving licence, with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift and handle products, with a maximum weight of25kg
- You must be eligible to work in the UK;
N.B. If you are a driver under age 25 or have held your licence for less than 2 years, it is a condition of our vehicle insurance that you must accept responsibility of 50% of the insurance excess, should it be required for insurance claims.
HOURS OF WORK & BENEFITS:
- Start time is between 3:00am- 3:30am until finish (approximately 8-9 hours later)
- Weekly hours is approximately 40 hours per week (some flexibility in working patterns may be required at key times or during team shortages);
- You will be required to work 5 out of 6 days per week Monday - Saturday inclusive;
