Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, supporting materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving activities. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience or those eager to develop their skills within a fast-paced environment. The role involves physical activity, including heavy lifting, and requires attention to detail to maintain high standards of quality control.
Duties
- Handling materials efficiently and safely across various warehouse processes
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery (training provided)
- Managing stock levels using our warehouse management system (WMS)
- Assisting with shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading lorries
- Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch
- Stocking shelves and maintaining organised storage areas
- Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards
- Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance
- Ensuring health and safety protocols are followed at all times during daily operations
Requirements
- Prior experience in warehouse operations or logistics is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of materials handling, stock management systems, and shipping & receiving procedures is advantageous
- Ability to operate forklift trucks safely (certification is desirable but not mandatory)
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse equipment is a plus
- Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and load/unload items regularly
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for picking, packing, and quality checks
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude towards safety and efficiency
Pay: £12.71-£13.22 per hour
