Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tyre Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, repairing, and maintaining tyres on a variety of vehicles, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Duties
- Remove and replace tyres on different types of vehicles, including cars, vans, and lorries.
- Inspect tyres for damage, wear, and punctures, recommending repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Use hand tools such as tyre levers and wrenches to remove and fit tyres securely onto wheels.
- Operate power tools safely to assist with tyre fitting processes.
- Perform wheel balancing and alignment checks to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Conduct safety checks on tyres and related components before returning vehicles to customers.
- Assist with the disposal of old tyres in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge or experience in vehicle maintenance is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as tyre levers, wrenches, and screwdrivers.
- Experience with power tools used in tyre fitting is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling tyres and wheels weighing up to 20kg or more.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise fitting and safety compliance.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the business schedule.
- A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential depending on the role’s requirements.
