We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and inspiring Youth Theatre Leader to lead our dynamic theatre programme for young people aged 12–19 in St Albans.
The successful candidate will be highly skilled in dance, drama and singing, with the ability to devise, direct and produce engaging performances and shows. You will play a key role in developing students’ confidence, creativity and stagecraft, helping them build strong foundations in all aspects of musical theatre and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead energetic and engaging theatre sessions for ages 12–19.
- Teach and develop skills in acting, singing and dance.
- Plan, rehearse and stage high-quality performances and productions.
- Challenge and inspire young performers to reach their full potential.
- Build students’ knowledge of theatre practice, performance techniques and stagecraft.
- Create a supportive, inclusive and motivating learning environment.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Professional drama school training or a relevant higher education qualification in Drama, Musical Theatre, Performing Arts or a related field.
- Strong practical experience in dance, drama and singing.
- Experience working with young people in a theatre or performing arts setting.
- The ability to lead rehearsals, manage groups effectively and bring creative ideas to life on stage.
- A passion for nurturing talent and encouraging artistic growth.
