Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Administer medication accurately according to care plans and document all care provided diligently.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Support clients with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
- Provide emotional support and companionship, engaging clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
- Drive clients to appointments, social outings, or errands safely while adhering to all traffic laws.
- Monitor and report any changes in health or behavior to relevant healthcare professionals promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisted living, home care, or nursing home environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, and senior care practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and handle physical tasks safely.
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record for transportation duties.
- Certifications in first aid and medication administration are preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided.
- Strong communication skills with an empathetic approach to caregiving.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively and handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
