Overview
Due to growing demand, we are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly team as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years education and committed to helping children thrive through play, exploration and positive relationships.
The Role
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a key role in creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can develop confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning. You will work closely with colleagues, parents and carers to ensure every child receives the highest standard of care and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding care and education for children aged 6 months to 5 years.
- Build warm, positive and responsive relationships with children and their families.
- Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Observe, assess and record children's learning and development.
- Support children's emotional wellbeing, independence and confidence.
- Create an inclusive environment that meets the individual needs of every child.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, hygiene and wellbeing.
- Complete children's observations, assessments and learning journeys to a high standard.
- Work effectively as part of a supportive team, contributing ideas and sharing good practice.
- Promote positive behaviour through encouragement, respect and consistent boundaries.
- Ensure the nursery environment is clean, organised, stimulating and welcoming.
- Follow all nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding and confidentiality.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (or recognised equivalent).
- Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- A genuine passion for working with young children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training).
- Knowledge of child development and inclusive practice.
- Experience using online learning journals.
- On the DBS update service.
This role is for 37.5 hours however, part-time hours may be available.
