Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our newly opened Irish bar. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and extensive knowledge bar service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer experiences, maintaining food safety standards, and managing the overall performance of the bar. The successful applicant will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment that encourages team collaboration and high-quality service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the bar team, including bartenders, supervisors and bar backs, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Manage all aspects of bar service, including serving customers, taking orders, and ensuring timely delivery of drinks and food.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in line with regulatory requirements.
- Organise staff schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and supervise team performance to optimise productivity.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws and health & safety regulations at all times.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders for supplies, and manage inventory to minimise waste while ensuring availability of popular items.
- Develop menus in collaboration with the general manager, incorporating innovative drinks options to attract customers.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Promote a positive working environment that fosters teamwork, motivation, and professional development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management with supervisory or team management responsibilities.
- Experience in serving beverages, including mixology skills; barista experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
- Previous experience supervising staff in a busy environment is highly desirable.
