Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts and Operations Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with bookkeeping, managing accounts payable, and supporting daily administrative functions, ensuring smooth business operations. Prior experience with accounting software is preferred, and a keen eye for accuracy is essential.
Duties
- Assist with maintaining financial records and bookkeeping using Sage50
- Manage accounts payable processes, including processing invoices and payments
- Support the preparation of financial reports and reconciliations e.g. quarterly VAT returns, monthly reporting
- Manage accounts receivables and credit control
- Maintain organised records of transactions and correspondence
- Support the finance team with ad hoc administrative duties as required
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures related to financial management
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage is highly desirable
- Experience with accounts payable processes and bookkeeping
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of financial principles and organisational operations
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes
