Job Overview
Kabuki Childcare Centre is looking for an experienced Finance & Systems Manager to take ownership of our finance function and improve the systems supporting our growing organisation.
Alongside managing accounts, payroll information, nursery funding and financial reporting, you’ll review our paper-based processes and lead the move to practical digital systems.
You don’t need to be an IT specialist, but you should be confident researching software, improving processes and supporting staff through change.
Key Duties
- Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash-flow reports.
- Maintain accurate records and reconciliations in Xero.
- Oversee parent accounts, local-authority funding and credit control.
- Coordinate payroll preparation and checking.
- Prepare supplier and payroll payments for director approval.
- Produce year-end information for our external accountant.
- Review and digitise paper-based and manual processes.
- Research, select and implement suitable software.
- Create digital forms, approval workflows, reminders and reports.
- Manage system licences, user accounts and permissions.
- Train staff and monitor whether new systems are working effectively.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or senior accounts role.
- Strong knowledge of management accounts, budgeting, payroll and financial controls.
- Confidence using Xero or similar accounting software.
- Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills.
- Experience improving processes or implementing business systems.
- Excellent organisation, accuracy and communication.
- A collaborative approach with the confidence to challenge when necessary.
AAT Level 4, part-qualified status, an equivalent finance qualification or substantial relevant experience would be welcomed.
Experience in childcare, education or another regulated environment would be beneficial but isn’t essential.
Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
