Main responsibilities
The Inspection Support Engineer is onshore based and is responsible for the management and delivery of Inspection Projects.
All persons conducting work for Altrad Sparrows Inspection Services are to be aware that they are free from any commercial, financial, and other pressures which might influence their judgement, impartiality, independence and integrity and should formally report any undue pressures applied to them during the inspection to their immediate supervisor. They can also report directly to the Inspection Services Manager if they deem this more appropriate.
· Liaising with the clients/contract and correctly identifying the offshore Inspection requirements for upcoming work on various offshore locations.
· Liaising with Technicians and assist in the completion of contracts utilising their knowledge of Inspection and utilising the current in-house database.
· Overseeing training requirements for the Inspection team and ensuring on-going personnel competency.
· Supporting operational best practices within the department.
· Supporting the preparation and execution of tenders liaising closely with the operations team.
· Management of on-going contracts.
· Liaising with Finance team for invoicing etc.
HSEQ responsibilities
· It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Sparrows Integrated Management System. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager.
· The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them. The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
Qualifications and experience
The following skills are essential:
· Previous experience within the oil and gas industry
· IT skills including use of Microsoft office packages: Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc
· Respond effectively to demands of a high and varied workload, and changing job priorities
· Communicate effectively and in a professional manner with staff at all levels, as well as clients
· Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020:2012 & UKAS accreditation requirements
The following skills are desirable:
· NDT qualification (Minimum UT or EC Level 2) and have a good understanding of Inspection procedures
· Knowledge of various NDT Techniques
· LEEA Foundation and Diploma/s
· Knowledge of Lifting Equipment (Class A, B & C) Examination, Reporting and Defect requirements (LOLER 9 & 10)
· ISO Internal Auditor
· Knowledge of DROPS
· First Aid at Work
· Valid Driver’s Licence
· Involvement in Industry Safety Initiatives
· Involvement in Rope Access Activities
