About ARU:
ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
ARU’s research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK’s Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK’s leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.
About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Customer Services and Enquiries Team, supporting prospective students and applicants throughout their journey to ARU.
As a Customer Services and Enquiries Assistant, you will be one of the first points of contact for future students, providing high-quality advice and guidance across a range of communication channels, including telephone, email, live chat, social media and digital platforms. Your role will be vital in ensuring that every prospective student receives an excellent experience, helping them make informed decisions about studying at ARU.
Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you will manage enquiries relating to courses, entry requirements, fees, scholarships, applications and admissions processes. You will support applicants from initial enquiry through to enrolment, ensuring questions are resolved professionally, accurately and efficiently.
You will utilise a range of systems including CRM platforms, admissions systems and AI-powered communication tools to maintain accurate applicant records, manage enquiry workflows and support effective communication with prospective students. Working closely with colleagues across Admissions, Student Recruitment, Information Technology and other university teams, you will contribute to a seamless applicant experience.
The successful candidate will have substantial customer service experience, ideally gained within a contact centre, advisory or customer-facing environment. You will be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of service. Experience of handling complex enquiries, using CRM systems and working confidently with technology will be essential.
We are seeking someone who is proactive, adaptable and committed to delivering outstanding customer service. If you enjoy helping people, solving problems and working collaboratively as part of a team that directly contributes to ARU's student recruitment success, we would love to hear from you.
