Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Plasterer/Renderer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying plaster and render to interior and exterior surfaces, transforming buildings with precision and craftsmanship. Your expertise will help create smooth, durable finishes on walls, ceilings, and facades, contributing to the aesthetic appeal and structural integrity of various projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse building sites, utilizing your technical skills to deliver high-quality results efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying bonding agents to ensure optimal adhesion of plaster or render.
- Mix plaster or render materials accurately according to project specifications, ensuring consistent consistency and quality.
- Apply plaster or render using hand tools such as trowels, hawks, floats, and mixers to achieve smooth, even finishes on walls, ceilings, and external facades.
- Use power tools including drills and mixers to facilitate efficient material preparation and application processes.
- Install insulation or other building components as needed prior to rendering for enhanced thermal performance.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the application process to ensure finishes meet safety standards and aesthetic expectations.
- Collaborate with bricklayers, masons, carpenters, roofers, welders, and other tradespeople to coordinate tasks effectively on-site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in plastering or rendering with a solid understanding of different techniques for internal and external surfaces.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, floats, hawks, and mixers; familiarity with power tools is advantageous.
- Knowledge of bricklaying, masonry principles, roofing basics, welding techniques, and carpentry skills is desirable but not mandatory.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality finishes within deadlines.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks in various weather conditions.
