Overview
We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Head Football Coach to lead our football programme and drive excellence both on and off the pitch. This key role involves planning and delivering effective training sessions, developing match strategies, motivating players, and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture. Duties
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day delivery of all coaching sessions across the academy.
- Set up and prepare pitches, equipment, and training areas to ensure sessions are safe, organised, and ready to begin on time.
- Manage, support, and mentor the coaching team, ensuring high standards of professionalism and performance.
- Monitor coaching sessions to ensure all coaches are delivering the academy syllabus consistently and to the required standard.
- Provide ongoing feedback, guidance, and development opportunities for coaching staff.
- Ensure all sessions are engaging, inclusive, and development-focused for players of all abilities.
- Manage player behaviour in line with the academy's values and disciplinary procedures.
- Respond appropriately to injuries and incidents, administering first aid where required and following safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
- Build positive relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular communication, addressing concerns professionally, and representing the academy in a positive manner.
- Oversee the organisation and presentation of players at the end of each session, ensuring children are collected safely and the academy maintains a professional image.
- Ensure all equipment is accounted for, stored correctly, and maintained to a high standard.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and report any safeguarding or welfare concerns in accordance with academy policies.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and enjoyable learning environment that reflects the academy's philosophy and values.
- Assist with coach recruitment, inductions, and performance reviews where required.
- Support academy events, tournaments, holiday camps, and community engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with FA regulations, safeguarding requirements, and academy policies at all times.
