Registered Manager
Reports to: Managing Director / Responsible Individual
Location: Service-based (multi-site as required)
Hours: 40 hours per week (flexibility required in line with organisational needs)
Role Overview
The Registered Manager is responsible for the effective leadership, management, and continuous improvement of residential services, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care for young people. The role requires compliance with regulatory frameworks (including Ofsted), efficient resource management, and strong leadership to promote independence, inclusion, and positive outcomes for service users.
Key ResponsibilitiesService Delivery & Quality
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, culturally appropriate care that promotes choice, independence, and social inclusion.
- Maintain full compliance with the Care Act 2014, Ofsted regulations, and all relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Capacity Act, DoLS).
- Lead the development and implementation of person-centred care and support plans.
- Monitor service quality and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure safe, inclusive environments where risks are effectively managed.
Operational Management
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the home(s), ensuring performance standards are consistently met.
- Manage multi-site operations where applicable (dual registration).
- Ensure services maintain maximum occupancy and coordinate promptly with funders regarding vacancies.
- Manage budgets effectively, including staffing, maintenance, and revenue expenditure.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting, including Ofsted submissions, payroll, and financial monitoring.
Leadership & Staff Management
- Lead, supervise, and support Deputy/Development Managers, support staff, and administrative teams.
- Conduct staff appraisals, performance management, and disciplinary procedures.
- Promote a positive team culture focused on development, accountability, and high performance.
- Ensure effective recruitment, retention, and ongoing staff training and development.
Service User Outcomes
- Promote person-centred approaches, ensuring service users and families are actively involved in care decisions.
- Support service users to develop independence, life skills, and engagement in community activities.
- Ensure safeguarding policies are upheld and embedded in practice.
- Oversee compatibility assessments for new referrals and manage risk appropriately.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure services operate in accordance with organisational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Ensure adherence to safeguarding, health and safety, fire safety, food hygiene, and risk management requirements.
- Produce reports, evaluations, and updates for senior management.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and external reviews.
Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise effectively with internal teams, external professionals, local authorities, and families.
- Contribute to organisational objectives and strategic initiatives.
- Represent the organisation at meetings, conferences, and sector events as required.
Additional Duties
- Lead or participate in service development projects and change initiatives.
- Support organisational strategic goals and values.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by senior management.
Special Requirements
- Travel across services and locations may be required.
- Flexibility to respond to emergencies or service needs outside core hours.

Pay: £50,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
