Public Health Analyst Apprentice (Level 7 Health and Social Care Apprenticeship)
Are you passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of communities through data, evidence and insight?
We are looking for an aspiring analyst to join our Public Health Team as a Public Health Analyst Apprentice, undertaking a Level 7 Health and Social Care Apprenticeship. This role combines practical experience with postgraduate-level learning, enabling you to develop specialist analytical skills while contributing to projects that improve the lives of Northumberland residents.
As a Public Health Analyst Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced public health professionals and analysts to collect, manage, interpret and present data that informs decision-making, commissioning and service improvement across health and social care. We are looking for an aspiring analyst to undertake the Health and Care Intelligence Specialist Apprenticeship and develop specialist expertise in health and care intelligence.
About the Role
You will support the delivery of high-quality analytical work that helps identify population health needs, understand health inequalities and evaluate the impact of public health interventions. Working across a range of datasets and intelligence sources, you will learn how evidence can be used to shape services and improve outcomes for local communities.
Key responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the collection, management and analysis of health and social care data.

Supporting the development of reports, dashboards and analytical products.

Contributing to population health assessments and health needs analyses.

Using evidence and intelligence to support commissioning, service planning and performance management.

Producing clear and accessible presentations and reports for a variety of audiences.

Supporting evaluations of services, programmes and public health initiatives.

Learning to apply epidemiological and statistical methods to real-world public health challenges.

Working with colleagues, partners and stakeholders across the health and care system.

Developing skills in analytical software and data visualisation tools such as Excel, Power BI, GIS and other specialist systems.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an aspiring analyst to undertake the Health and Care Intelligence Specialist Apprenticeship and develop specialist expertise in health and care intelligence.
You will be able to demonstrate quantitative and analytical capability through qualifications, professional registration, relevant experience, or a combination of these.
You will also demonstrate:

Experience working with data, intelligence, research or performance information.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
The ability to interpret and communicate findings.
-
An interest in using intelligence to improve health, care and population outcomes.
-
The potential to benefit from and successfully complete a Level 7 apprenticeship.
This apprenticeship is primarily aimed at individuals developing their analytical career, although applications from more experienced analysts will be considered where the programme offers clear opportunities for further development and progression.
Interested applicants who already hold a qualification that substantially overlaps with the content and intended learning outcomes of the Health and Care Intelligence Specialist apprenticeship may not be considered.
This may include qualifications such as:

Bachelor's or master's degrees in public health.

Master's degrees in Population Health.

Master's degrees in Health Intelligence or Health Informatics.

Other closely related qualifications where the content and learning outcomes substantially overlap with the apprenticeship.
