Urban Transit Solutions is hiring reliable School Transport Drivers (subcontractors) for SEND school transport routes in Lewisham and surrounding South London areas. We are hiring urgently, with immediate starts available once approval, onboarding and checks are complete.
This role provides regular school-term work with a morning school drop-off and an afternoon pick-up. Routes are usually around 1.5 hours each way. You will collect and return children safely between home and school, following the agreed route and timetable, and provide a calm, respectful service to children and families.
What we offer:

- Routes based in Lewisham and nearby South London boroughs. Applicants from nearby areas are welcome if they can reliably reach the route.

- SEND experience is helpful but not essential if you are caring, patient and willing to follow safeguarding procedures.
Essential requirements:
- TfL-licensed vehicle: your vehicle must hold the correct current TfL licence/authorisation for passenger transport.
- TfL-licensed driver: you must hold the correct current TfL driver licence/authorisation for this role. Both the driver and vehicle must meet TfL requirements.
- Enhanced DBS clearance suitable for working with children, or willingness to obtain it before starting.
- Full, valid UK driving licence, right to work in the UK and a safe driving record.
- Reliable, punctual and able to complete both the morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up.
- Clean, safe, insured and well-maintained vehicle suitable for the agreed passenger transport work.
- Professional communication and the ability to support children and young people with SEND calmly and respectfully.
Key responsibilities:
- Complete scheduled home-to-school morning drop-offs and school-to-home afternoon pick-ups.
- Transport children safely and provide appropriate assistance with boarding, disembarking and the journey.
- Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, behaviour-support, route and incident-reporting procedures.
- Report delays, incidents, absences or vehicle issues promptly to Urban Transit Solutions.
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable and comply with all TfL, insurance and safety requirements.
Preferred:
- Previous school transport, private-hire, care, education or passenger transport experience.
- Experience supporting children or vulnerable passengers.
- First aid or safeguarding training.
