Are you a proven warehouse leader who thrives on taking ownership, driving performance, and leading teams to success?
We're looking for a confident and capable Warehouse Shift Manager to take full responsibility for our Twilight operation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced supervisor, team leader, or shift manager looking to step into a role with greater autonomy, accountability, and influence.
As the most senior leader on shift, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and successful running of the warehouse operation during the evening. You'll lead by example, inspire your team to achieve high standards, and ensure operational targets are consistently delivered. With the wider business offline during much of your shift, you'll have the authority to make key decisions, resolve issues, and drive performance in real time.
Experience within a warehouse, logistics, distribution, FMCG, or supply chain environment would be highly advantageous.
The Opportunity
This is more than managing a shift. It's about owning an operation.
You'll play a pivotal role in creating a highly engaged, motivated team while ensuring productivity, service levels, stock accuracy, and compliance standards remain at the highest level. We are looking for a leader who can balance people management with operational excellence and continuously look for ways to improve performance and efficiency.
What You'll Be Doing
- Taking full accountability for the smooth and successful running of the Twilight warehouse operation.
- Leading, motivating, coaching, and developing a team to achieve operational and service targets.
- Managing workflow across picking, packing, stock control, and dispatch activities to ensure customer orders are delivered accurately and on time.
- Acting as the senior decision-maker on shift, confidently resolving operational issues as they arise.
- Monitoring productivity, service levels, and quality standards, taking proactive action where needed.
- Driving a positive, high-performance culture through visible leadership and regular team engagement.
- Ensuring all shift objectives, system tasks, and operational priorities are completed before handover.
- Maintaining excellent standards of warehouse housekeeping, organisation, and shift readiness.
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and company procedures.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance operational performance.
- Working closely with the wider management team to support business objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience leading teams within a warehouse, logistics, distribution, FMCG, manufacturing, or production environment.
- Experience as a Shift Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader, or similar operational leadership role.
- A confident people manager who can motivate, challenge, and develop teams.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to work independently and take ownership of shift performance.
- Excellent organisation, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- A hands-on leadership style with a willingness to support the team when required.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, stock control, picking, packing, and dispatch processes.
- Understanding of Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements, including HACCP, would be advantageous.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence.
What You'll Get in Return
- A genuine management role with significant responsibility and autonomy.
- A supportive senior leadership team invested in your development and success.
- The chance to make a visible impact on performance, culture, and business results.
- Recognition for your achievements, ideas, and improvements.
Hours & Shift Pattern
- 45 hours per week.
- Twilight Shift: 5:00pm – 2:30am.
- 5 shifts from 6 on a rota basis.
- No Saturday evening shifts.
- Includes Bank Holidays.
