- HGV Tipper Experience: Proven experience driving tipper vehicles within the asphalt, aggregates or construction materials industry is essential.
- Relevant Industry Experience: You must have previous experience delivering asphalt and aggregates to construction sites or similar locations.
- HGV Licence: A valid licence appropriate for the vehicle being driven is essential.
- Vehicle Checks & Defect Reporting: You must be confident carrying out thorough daily walk-around checks, identifying defects and completing the required defect notification.
- Vehicle Care: You will be responsible for keeping your allocated vehicle clean, tidy and well maintained, both inside and out.
- Availability: You must be available to work Monday–Friday daytime hours, with additional weekend work every other weekend when available.
- Safety & Reliability: A strong commitment to safe driving, site procedures and vehicle compliance is essential.
About the Role
We are a family-run business looking for an experienced HGV Tipper Driver to join our team, delivering asphalt and aggregates to various locations and construction sites throughout the North West.
This is a Monday–Friday daytime role, with every other weekend available when work requires it.
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of materials, while maintaining high standards of vehicle care and completing all required vehicle safety checks.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate an HGV tipper vehicle.
- Deliver asphalt and aggregates to construction sites and other locations throughout the North West.
- Carry out thorough walk-around vehicle checks before operating the vehicle.
- Identify and report any mechanical or safety defects promptly.
- Complete the required defect notification accurately.
- Keep the vehicle clean and tidy, both internally and externally.
- Carry out routine vehicle care and checks.
- Follow all relevant road transport, site safety and health and safety procedures.
- Ensure materials are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a professional approach when dealing with customers, site personnel and colleagues.
- Take responsibility for the condition and presentation of your allocated vehicle.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an experienced and reliable HGV Tipper Driver who:
- Has previous tipper driving experience.
- Has worked within the asphalt, aggregates or construction materials industry.
- Is confident delivering materials to construction and commercial sites.
- Has a strong understanding of vehicle safety and defect reporting.
- Takes pride in keeping their vehicle clean, tidy and well presented.
- Is reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.
- Has good attention to detail.
- Can work independently while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
- Is comfortable carrying out regular vehicle checks and completing defect documentation.
