Responsibilities
- Offer personalized support to children and young people, assisting with daily activities and routines
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that encourages growth and development
- Mentor children by providing positive role modeling and encouragement
- Assist with educational activities, including teaching basic skills and supporting learning goals
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and other professionals to create tailored care plans
- Support children during outings, recreational activities, and community events
- Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and daily activities in accordance with organizational policies
Skills
- Experience working with children in educational or care settings is highly desirable
- Strong mentoring abilities with a passion for supporting youth development
- Excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with children and team members
- Ability to teach basic life skills and facilitate learning in a supportive manner
- Patience, empathy, and active listening skills to understand individual needs
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and commitment to promoting a safe environment
