Are you an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a well-paid permanent opportunity with a large, established manufacturing business?
We’re currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established engineering team, supporting a busy, high-volume production environment where reliability, preventative maintenance and minimising downtime are key priorities.
With a salary of £51,300, a structured three-week shift pattern and no conventional night shifts, this is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking for a stable long-term position.
The Role
You'll be responsible for maintaining production machinery and associated equipment, responding to breakdowns and carrying out planned preventative maintenance to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
You'll work closely with production and engineering colleagues to identify faults, resolve issues and improve equipment reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults
- Responding to breakdowns and prioritising repairs to minimise downtime
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance
- Maintaining production machinery and associated equipment
- Identifying recurring faults and supporting root cause analysis
- Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
- Working closely with production teams to resolve engineering issues
- Completing maintenance records and engineering documentation
- Ensuring equipment is safe during and following maintenance activities
- Working to high standards of health & safety and site procedures
The Shift Pattern
The role operates on a three-week rotating pattern:
Week 1: Monday–Friday late shifts
Week 2: Monday–Friday early shifts
Week 3: Maintenance shifts, including one weekday and Saturday/Sunday - all day shifts
No conventional night shifts and no continuous 4-on/4-off rotation.
About You
We're ideally looking for a genuinely multi-skilled engineer with a 50/50 electrical and mechanical skill set.
However, strong candidates with a particular bias towards either electrical or mechanical engineering will also be considered.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Engineer / Engineering Technician
- Experience within a high-volume manufacturing or production environment
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability
- Experience diagnosing and repairing production machinery
- A proactive approach to preventative maintenance
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Good attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A strong focus on safety and quality
- Relevant engineering qualifications and experience
