A friendly and welcoming 1-form entry primary school in the SN25 area of Swindon is seeking a caring and adaptable KS1 Teacher to join their supportive team from May until the end of the academic year. The Role
You will be working as a Reception Teacher, supporting children at a crucial stage in their development. The role involves delivering a balance of structured teaching and play-based learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
As part of a small, supportive team, you will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with pupils and contribute meaningfully to their early learning journey.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, play-based learning experiences in line with EYFS
- Supporting early development in communication, language, literacy, and numeracy
- Creating a calm, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment
- Observing, assessing, and tracking children’s progress
- Supporting children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Working closely with teaching assistants and colleagues
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers
- Following safeguarding and school policies
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a qualified teacher who has experience in Early Years or a strong understanding of the EYFS framework.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience teaching in Reception or Early Years
- Understand the importance of play-based learning and early development
- Be warm, patient, and nurturing in their approach
- Be confident supporting a range of needs, both academic and emotional
- Use positive behaviour management strategies and clear routines
- Work well as part of a close-knit team
