Part-Time Motorhome Technician / Motor Mechanic on a self employed basis.
Job Overview
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Motorhome Technician / Motor Mechanic to join our growing team on a part-time basis, with potential for a full time role. We specialise in the servicing, maintenance, repair, of motorhomes, delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent diagnostic skills, and can work independently as well as part of a team. You will be responsible for carrying out servicing, repairs, and fault diagnosis on a variety of motorhomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing and scheduled maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently.
- Perform engine repairs and replacements.
- Carry out gearbox repairs and replacements.
- Repair and maintain braking, steering, suspension, and cooling systems.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify faults.
- Complete repairs to a high standard while following manufacturer specifications.
- Inspect vehicles and identify any additional work required.
- Maintain accurate job records and complete all relevant paperwork.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with health and safety procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with customers when required.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent) – Essential.
- Proven experience as a qualified motor vehicle technician or mechanic.
- Confident carrying out servicing, diagnostics, engine repairs, and gearbox repairs.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Reliable, hardworking, and committed to producing high-quality work.
Desirable
- Previous experience working on motorhomes, campervans, or light commercial vehicles.
- MOT Tester qualification (preferred but not essential).
- Experience with electrical fault diagnosis.
