Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Stainless Steel & Aluminium Fabricator Welder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately fabricating, assembling and welding to a very high standard Stainless Steel & Aluminium components from engineering drawings.
The successful candidate will deliver accurate, visually clean finishes compliant with UK quality and safety legislation.
Responsibilities
- Read, accurately interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, including weld symbols.
- Measure, mark out, cut and shape stainless steel sheets, pipes, sections, and thin gauge materials.
- Safely utilize workshop tools such as CNC and manual brake presses, band saws, polishing machines and hand held power tools.
- Assemble and tack-weld frames, architectural fixtures (balustrades etc) and fabrications to tight tolerances before final welding.
- Welding Excellence
- Perform high quality TIG welding on varying thicknesses of Stainless steel and Aluminium (Mainly thin to medium gauge).
- Apply MIG/MAG or MMA welding techniques when working on mixed materials or structural frameworks as required.
- Weld components consistently across different positions (Butt, fillet, T-butt etc).
- Quality and Finishing
- Clean, grind, blend and polish welds using sanders and angle grinders to meet strict hygienic or architectural standards - mainly Dull Polished finish and finishes ready for powder coating.
- Conduct thorough visual checks and dimensional testing to identify and correct any cracks or deformities.
- Ensure output satisfies internal quality parameters and UK industry standards.
- Maintain a tidy work environment and adhere strictly to Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines.
- Consistently use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including air-fed welding masks.
Pay: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
