Gas Safe Installers Wanted — £300 to £450 Per Day — London
Location: London and Greater London Rate: £300 to £450 per day, depending on experience and qualifications Engagement: Self-employed subcontractor, UTR and public liability insurance required Availability: Work available immediately
Plumb London has been trading for over 20 years and holds more than 6,000 customer reviews across Trustpilot, Checkatrade and Google. We are one of the capital's most established plumbing and heating businesses and we are expanding our network of Gas Safe registered subcontractors.
We are looking for installers. Boiler and heating system installations, system conversions, cylinder work, upgrades, repairs and component replacement in domestic properties. This is not building work and it is not site work. Every job is a domestic property, and installations are surveyed and quoted before you attend, with the scope agreed and the materials on order before the first day.
We are known for the standard of our work and we are direct about that from the outset. Completed installations are reviewed by our senior and quality control engineers. We have built a 20 year reputation on what leaves site, and we only continue working with engineers whose workmanship meets that standard. If you take pride in a tidy, properly commissioned job, you will fit here. If you do not, you will not.
Plumb London is a family business and it is run by the family. The engineers on our network have been with us for years, not months. Working across a range of installation and repair work with one firm that keeps you busy all year round is how you build your trade, rather than chasing jobs across half a dozen companies and learning nothing from any of them.
The work
Boiler installations and replacements across combi, system and heat only.
System conversions, including conventional to combi and back boiler removals.
Cylinder installations, including unvented where G3 qualified.
Heating system upgrades, controls and associated pipework.
Boiler repairs and component replacement.
All work is domestic. Premium residential properties across London and Greater London, for customers who have chosen us on reputation rather than price.
No paperwork!
This is the part most engineers tell us makes the difference.
Every job runs through our job management system on your phone. Your work is recorded as you go, certificates are issued automatically, and your job report is generated from what you have entered. There are no job sheets, no certificates to fill in by hand, and nothing to drop back at the office.
Because the record completes on site, invoicing is automatic. You are not chasing the office to confirm what you did on a job three weeks ago.
What we provide
Guaranteed volume. A committed number of days each week, agreed with you before you start. Not a promise of a busy pipeline, an actual number.
Materials supplied. Ordered on our accounts and delivered to site or available for collection. You are not funding stock or waiting to be reimbursed.
Work surveyed and quoted before you attend. Our survey team scopes the job, agrees the specification with the customer and confirms the materials. You arrive to a defined job rather than working it out on the day.
An office team that handles the customer. Scheduling, communication, changes and complaints are dealt with by our Client Experience team. Your job is the installation.
Compliance support. Gas Safe registration is yours, but we handle certificate issue, customer records and documentation.
Rate and payment
£300 to £450 per day depending on experience and qualifications.
Additional and specialist work is available at rates agreed in advance.
You invoice monthly for days worked. Payment is made on the same date each month so you know exactly when you are paid.
Van hire is available if you need it, invoiced separately as a commercial arrangement.
What we need from you
Valid Gas Safe registration.
Domestic installation experience. Five years is our benchmark, though strong engineers with less will be considered.
Your own tools, transport, UTR and public liability insurance.
Full UK driving licence.
Subcontractors work independently and are free to take on work elsewhere alongside Plumb London contracts. Where you are unable to attend, a suitably qualified and Gas Safe registered substitute may be provided at your discretion.
Other tickets and trades
This advert is for gas installation work, but we are a multi-trade business. Plumbing, heating, drainage, air conditioning, bathrooms, kitchens and electrical all sit under one roof, and we are moving into air source.
If you hold anything beyond your Gas Safe registration, tell us. F-gas, air source, unvented G3, electrical qualifications, water regulations, anything. Engineers who can cover more than one trade get more days and better rates, and it is far easier for us to keep someone busy who can pick up two types of work rather than one.
The same applies if you are working toward something. If you are part way through an air source or F-gas qualification, mention it.
Standards
All gas work is subject to inspection in line with Gas Safe requirements and our own quality standards. These are regulatory and customer assurance checks. How you carry out the work is a matter for you as a qualified engineer.
Apply
Apply through Indeed, or send your CV and Gas Safe registration details to [email protected].
If you have photographs of previous installations, include them. They tell us more than a CV does.
