We are seeking an experienced and energetic Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our large-scale, high-volume coffee shop. With 500 covers and a dynamic team of around 20 staff per day, this is a hands-on role requiring excellent leadership, organisational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Coffee Shop Manager in leading all aspects of the day-to-day operations, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and customer-focused environment.
- Lead by example on the shop floor, setting high standards for service, food safety, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Supervise, coach, and motivate a team of approximately 20 staff each day, including front-of-house, and kitchen team members.
- Manage staff rotas, break schedules, and shift allocations in real-time to respond to peak trading periods.
- Oversee the quality and consistency of food and drink, ensuring compliance with all food safety and health & safety legislation.
- Support with stock control, ordering, and waste reduction initiatives to maximise profitability.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with training and onboarding of new team members, promoting a positive and inclusive working culture.
- Ensure all operational procedures, policies, and compliance checks are followed and documented correctly.
- Deputise for the Coffee Shop Manager during periods of absence.

- Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role within a fast-paced food and beverage environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a large and diverse team.
- Confident decision-maker with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- A keen eye for operational detail and the ability to thrive under pressure.
- Knowledge of food safety, allergens, and health & safety regulations.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Desirable
- Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Food or Food retail Background
- Experience in high-footfall hospitality environments.
