Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Night Care Assistant. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care plans, and the ability to provide high quality hands on care to our residents. This position requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through attentive and personalised care.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and meeting nutritional needs.
- Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of resident progress and any changes in their condition.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a warm and welcoming environment.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the care home by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is desirable but not essential.
- Proficiency in English is necessary for effective communication with residents and staff.
- IT skills for maintaining records and using care management software, specifically PCS.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with residents, families, and colleagues effectively.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve the lives of others.
- Ability to work flexibly within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Flexibility to cover shifts as required and sometimes at short notice.
