Salary: Earn up to £526.19 per week (further information in provider fee section)
Earn up to £27,361 per annum looking after 1 Adult – (£526.19 per week for long term support)

Adults throughout South Tyneside are in need of safe, nurturing homes; and we are seeking highly motivated and dedicated people who can be Shared Lives Providers.
Our Adults come from a wide range of backgrounds, so we need providers who are as individual and diverse as our adults are.
We are seeking providers from all cultures, religions and ethnic groups; providers who are single or in couples, and providers of different sexual orientations.
You can be a full-time provider for vulnerable adults, or you can balance Shared Lives with working outside of the home.
The vulnerable adults require support and accommodation for lots of different reasons and different lengths of time. They may need support for one day, one year, or for a longer term, but no matter how long you care for an adult, you will have a lasting impact on their lives.
Our generous financial provider fee helps you to provide care whether that be on a short break or long-term basis. As a Shared Lives provider, you will be home based and will have full support from our experienced Shared Lives team, based at Clasper Court in South Shields.
At South Tyneside Council we offer many types of Shared Lives arrangements to suit your lifestyle and commitments. Our friendly and knowledgeable team will discuss with you how Shared Lives might fit your current commitments and find a type of arrangement that is right for you and your circumstances.
As a Shared Lives provider, you can support up to three adults at any one time.

TAX EXEMPTION INFOMATION:
As a Shared Lives Provider you will be self-employed and there is a Shared Lives tax exemption.

To become a Shared Lives Provider you must:
- Be over 18 years of age
- Have a spare bedroom
