AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST
To undertake all aspects of kitchen activity within a busy drop‑in centre supporting homeless, isolated, and vulnerable adults. The kitchen provides, on average, 80 hot lunches per day. The Kitchen Assistant will support correct procedures for opening and closing the kitchen, food storage, preparation, delivery, and stock rotation, ensuring full compliance with current food safety guidelines.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
· Preparing and serving donated food to provide healthy, varied, and nutritious meals for clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
· Daily and weekly cleaning of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and crockery.
· To have Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification (or willing to undertake it).
· To work alongside and support volunteers in the kitchen.
· Attend staff meetings, supervision, and training as required.
· Follow correct procedures for food storage, stock rotation, and kitchen hygiene.
· Carry out any other duties as directed by the Operations Manager
Pay: £13.45 per hour
