Hours: 8:40am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Pay Rate: £14.25 - £18.35 per hour (dependant on experience & qualifications)

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants who genuinely enjoy working with children and want to make a positive difference in the classroom. The ideal person will be patient, approachable and confident, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and provide encouragement and support. You'll be somebody that works well as part of a team, and use your initiative to adapt to the individual needs of the children you're supporting.
Job Description:
You will work alongside class teachers and school staff to provide support to pupils and help create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils with their learning on a one-to-one or small-group basis.
- Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging activities.
- Helping pupils to develop their academic, social and emotional skills.
- Supporting children who may have additional learning needs or SEND.
- Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources.
- Providing encouragement and helping pupils build confidence and independence.
- Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining clear boundaries.
- Building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Supporting pupils during lessons, break times and other school activities.
- Following school policies, safeguarding procedures and individual support plans.
Must Have:
- A recognised Teaching Assistant, Childcare or equivalent qualification.
- Professional experience working with children.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- A valid Enhanced DBS for Child Workforce on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
- A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting children.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to work effectively alongside teachers and other school staff.
- A genuine passion for helping children learn, develop and achieve their potential.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working within a primary school.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
- Experience working across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
- Knowledge of phonics and early reading.
- Experience providing one-to-one or small-group support.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures within an education setting.
- Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs.
- Additional relevant qualifications or training.
