Abbotsfield Care Home in Barrow-in-Furness is looking for a reliable and caring Bank Care Assistant to join our supportive team.

About the Role
As a Bank Care Assistant, you will be a hands-on member of the care team. You will provide person centred care and daily living support to our residents, following their care plans, and still encouraging independence where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide safe, compassionate and person-centred care, including personal care, mobility support, nutrition, hydration, continence care, pressure care, observations and end-of-life support.
· Promote each resident’s dignity, independence, comfort, choice and individual identity.
· Safely administer medication, in line with policies, procedures and medication management guidelines.
· Follow care plans, risk assessments and records so they accurately reflect residents’ needs, preferences and any changes in health or wellbeing.
· Respond effectively to emergencies, escalating concerns when required.
· Communicate clearly with residents, relatives, colleagues and healthcare professionals.
· Maintain accurate documentation and use electronic systems in line with care home policies and regulatory standards.
· Follow safeguarding, infection control, health and safety and care governance procedures at all times.
About You
We are looking for someone who is caring, confident and reliable, with the ability to support residents and colleagues in a busy care home environment.
· Minimum 12 months’ experience in adult social care or nursing care is desirable.
· Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care, Health and Social Care, is desirable.
· Applicants must be aged 18 or over due to the responsibilities of the role.
· A compassionate, respectful and person-centred approach to care.
· Confidence to support colleagues and respond appropriately to changing priorities.

Training and Support
Our training programme will support you to feel confident in your role as a Senior Care Assistant and develop useful skills for both work and everyday life.
As part of our standard induction programme, employees are invited to complete training such as:
· Basic fire awareness training, including the use of firefighting equipment.
· Fire warden training.
· Dementia awareness training.
· Choking first aid training.
· Basic first aid training.
· Additional training that can support you both at work and at home.
